San Juan Island-Themed Wedding at Roche Harbor Resort

As if their choice of venue wasn’t amazing and thoughtful enough, Natalie and Nick also did an awesome job of honoring both the location as well as Nick’s Greek heritage throughout their wedding. The San Juan Islands were represented thoughtfully through their reception decor, and the couple ended the night on the dance floor with a traditional -and totally thrilling- plate smashing. OPA!

U.S.S. Virginia V Lake Union Seattle Wedding

I’m on a Boat! Errr, well… I mean, I was on a boat, at least! Randa and Ross chartered the historic U.S.S. Virginia V steam ship for their wedding here in Seattle’s South Lake Union last summer, and invited me along to document their day. I knew Randa from my college days. We both studied Interior Design at Colorado State (feels like forever ago!) and obviously only one of us (Randa!) stayed the course with that profession. Randa is a seriously talented designer, and her design sense was expressed beautifully in all of the details of their nautical wedding. I also want to give a big shout out to Cheri from Eidle Wilde Floral for the stunning floral work aboard the ship.

Fun North Beach Family Photos | Seattle Photographer

My job has introduced me to some fun small business owners and families in my local community of Seattle, and the Carlisle family was no exception! They own a residential remodeling company called Carlisle Classic Homes, and I had the pleasure of photographing them for a feature for Northwest Seattle Living, a neighborhood magazine that connects neighbors in the Blue Ridge and North Beach neighborhoods.

Great Hall at Green Lake Wedding Photos

Lindsey and Greg: How do I love thee? Let me count the ways…

1.) For the ceremony, Lindsey wore the same wedding dress that her grandmother, mom, and aunt wore on their wedding days. It was so sweet to witness this sort of legacy.

2.) Greg’s amazing blue and orange wedding day fashion!

3.) Lindsey’s dad’s surprise serenade at the reception that made me think that everyone there was cutting onions…

A Gothic-Chic Maroni Meadows Wedding

Three cheers for the couples out there who put their own spin on wedding traditions and knock it out of the park simply by staying true to themselves!

The bride’s black wedding dress and the skull-and-bone reception details were so much fun to shoot. Everything looked so gorgeous in the verdant setting at Maroni Meadows. I feel so lucky to have been a part of this day.

Adoption Day | Bellingham Family Photography

The family's official adoption date was bright and early on Monday morning, and the soon-to-be official parents made the day's festivities so special for their boys. They surprised them with a limo ride to the courthouse (minds were blown!) where they were joined by family and friends. After the adoption hearing? They celebrated in the best way possible: by heading to the donut shop and letting the boys eat whichever donut they wanted.

Private Event Space at Capitol Cider

The wedding vendor networking event was held at Capitol Cider's new private event space in Seattle's Capitol Hill neighborhood. The downstairs space can be rented to small or larger groups, and has a very cool, cozy vibe complete with communal tables and wooden booths. I suspect this place will be fully booked come holiday party season, and I can definitely see engaged couples considering this spot for their intimate celebrations. Also, their cider is just the best. YUM!

Intimate Canlis Restaurant Wedding Ceremony

Lauren and Tristan chose to host an intimate wedding ceremony with only their closest family and friends at the award-winning Canlis Restaurant in Seattle. Their larger reception --celebrated with many more guests-- was planned for a couple of nights later, so the couple and I took care of most of their portraits on the day of their ceremony. We started the day off by stopping at the Comet Tavern in Capitol Hill, where the couple first met. After, we snuck over to Volunteer Park to grab some photos with their pup, Ruby, with whom I am obsessed.

Laid-Back Seattle Newborn Photography At Home

Jessica and Ed welcomed their third baby, a boy, around the same time they moved into their new home in Seattle's Queen Anne neighborhood. I've photographed their older children and absolutely adore their precocious girls; their clever personalities are already shining through, and boy do they make me laugh! Jess and Ed invited me over to document their newborn, and their new family of 5.
